What are they?

Here is an explanation of some of the most popular English tests. All of these tests are good for different reasons and are required for different things. Let’s have a look!


Test of English for International Communication

This test is mainly for people who are interested in using their English skills for business purposes. You will be tested on simply your listening and your reading comprehension skills. Recently, you also have the option of doing the speaking and writing portion of the test, but it is not mandatory.

Many business organizations and companies ask that you have taken this test. You can’t fail the test, you simply receive a score. So, different companies and different positions require different scores.


Test of English as a Foreign Language

This test is mainly for people who wish to study in a North American university. You will be tested in each English skill; reading, writing, listening and speaking.


International Language Testing System

This test is similar to the TOEFL test, it’s for students who want to study at an English university. But this test is a little more internationally recognized than the TOEFL test.
